Can I upload Suno v6 songs to TuneCore?
What changed on September 8, 2026
Suno announced a global partnership with Believe and TuneCore. Suno's post says: "All tracks created by artists using Suno's new industry partner model will also become eligible to distribute through Believe and TuneCore." [Sep 8, 2026]
Music Business Worldwide reports this reverses Believe's April 30, 2026 decision to block tracks from Suno's then-current models, and that the announcement covers only output from the new industry-partner model. [Sep 8, 2026]
The next day, Suno launched v6 as "a new generation of music models developed with our industry partners, including Warner Music Group, BMG and Believe," and said previous models would be retired. [Sep 9, 2026] [Sep 9, 2026]
What is still blocked
Songs made on Suno's pre-v6 models. MBW: "music from Suno's earlier models remains blocked from distribution by both Believe and TuneCore." [Sep 16, 2026]
TuneCore's written rule still applies to every AI tool in a track: it only distributes music made with GenAI models trained on fully licensed datasets, even if AI was used for only part of the song. [undated page]
Suno's own commercial rules still apply: you need a song downloaded on a paid plan within your download allowance (see our Suno terms page). [effective Sep 3, 2026]
Your music and Suno training (opt-in)
Believe and TuneCore say artist music is only used in Suno's models with consent. Believe's CEO described a two-layer opt-in, and artists who decline are excluded from training. [Sep 16, 2026]
Unclear
- Which v6 models count. Suno's partnership post says "new industry partner model" (singular); the v6 launch lists three models (v6, v6-wild, v6-mini). Neither post says whether all three are covered. [Sep 8, 2026] [Sep 9, 2026]
- How TuneCore tells which model made your song. No upload declaration or verification step has been published.
- TuneCore's GenAI framework page (checked Nov 3, 2026) still names only Google Flow Music as an approved partner and does not mention Suno. [undated page]
FAQ
Can I upload Suno v6 songs to TuneCore?
Per Suno's Sept 8, 2026 announcement, tracks made with Suno's new industry-partner model are eligible for TuneCore and Believe distribution. TuneCore's own support page does not yet name Suno, so confirm with TuneCore support first.
Can I upload older Suno songs (v5 or earlier) to TuneCore?
No. Reporting on the deal says tracks from Suno's earlier models remain blocked by Believe and TuneCore.
Does v6-mini on the free plan count?
Unclear for TuneCore, and it does not matter yet: Suno's free plan does not grant commercial rights, so free-plan songs cannot be released commercially anywhere.
Will my TuneCore music be used to train Suno?
Only if you opt in. Believe says it uses a two-layer consent process and excludes artists who decline.
